Veterinary Assistant

Full-Time Position

Petdocks Veterinary Hospital, an AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital is actively seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our amazing team! The ideal candidate must be comfortable properly handling and restraining animals, rooming patients, assisting in surgery, surgical recovery, placing IV catheters, drawing blood and running bloodwork, have experience with x-ray and proper positioning, using laboratory equipment, and being a positive and supportive team player. Requirements:

  • 1+ years of experience working as a Veterinary Assistant
  • Cornerstone knowledge preferred, not mandatory
  • Idexx In-house lab equipment knowledge preferred, not mandatory
  • Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
  • Knowledge of animal behavior and healthcare
  • Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
  • Passion for working with animals and their owners
  • Understand the importance of client education
  • Team Player willing to continue to learn
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
