Introduction to the team

We are the Acquisition Marketing & Growth (AMG) team that plays a key role in shaping the first impressions of millions of travelers entering our ecosystem. We’re looking for a Technical Program Manager to help shape our product roadmap, drive cross-functional collaboration, orchestrate execution, and facilitate delivery of our top-of-funnel product.

As an integral member of the AMG team, you'll craft engaging entry points for users coming through a range of channels—including direct traffic, paid advertising, organic SEO, SEM, and social platforms. Our goal is to craft a contextual and personalized experience that draws customers in and supports them as they explore and find the perfect travel options within the Expedia ecosystem.

In this role, you will:

  • Craft and continuously refine a roadmap for feature planning and delivery

  • Adapt your program management expertise to meet the unique needs of each workstream

  • Facilitate bridging diverse perspectives across teams, from product to engineering, to create a cohesive plan

  • Identify opportunities for synergy and identify dependencies, while proactively monitoring project progress, making adjustments to keep everything on track and aligned to strategic needs

  • Lead agile practices like retrospectives, planning, and estimation sessions to ensure your team is working smoothly and efficiently toward committed goals

  • Develop a high-level understanding of our tech stack to facilitate meaningful conversations between product, business, and technical teams

  • Identify potential risks and work with cross-functional leads to build in mitigation strategies to keep projects on course

  • Stay informed about industry trends, software development lifecycle, and agile engineering practices, applying this knowledge to our processes and keeping us ahead of the curve

  • Ensure clear, timely communication across teams and stakeholders. Share updates on program progress, flagging any risks or dependencies to keep everyone in the loop

Experience and qualifications:

  • 6-8+ years of experience in program management or technical project management within a technology-focused environment

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or Business)

  • Prior experience in cross-functional project management roles where you led multiple, complex projects

  • Strong understanding of software development processes, and system architecture

  • Experience working with product and engineering teams, especially on technical projects where a high-level understanding of the technical stack is required

  • Experience in Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) with demonstrated ability to run agile ceremonies, facilitate discussions, and iterative development

  • Familiarity with Lean principles and continuous improvement techniques is often a plus

  • Experience in managing and aligning stakeholder expectations, often working with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams

  • Demonstrated experience in identifying and mitigating risks to keep projects on track

  • Comfortable using and/or familiar with project management tools (such as Jira, Asana, Trello, or Microsoft Project)

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to clearly convey complex information to technical and non-technical audiences

  • Strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, from engineering and product to business and executive leadership

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with excellent time-management abilities
