The Associate Director of Compliance and Training, under general direction, lends direct support to Executive Director for management and general administration of scholarship and student financial aid programs. Provides leadership and direction to Assistant Directors and staff in planning, development, coordination, and delivery of their respective areas to meet needs of students and goals of department. Serves as Campus Service Authority (CSA). Work hours are Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm or as work requirements indicate with occasional before/after hours during peak times, as well as occasional Saturday events.
Must be able to work remotely at the request of the university.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides leadership, supervision, and direction for staff development and training within the Department of Student Financial Assistance Services.
Collaborates with the Executive Director of Student Financial Assistance Services, Directors of Scholarships and Veteran Services, and other staff as charged by the Executive Director, to ensure that responsibility for administration and implementation for all critical processes across the department are clearly assigned, assumed, and shared by at least two parties on a primary and secondary basis.
Creates and updates training guides for staff and student workers. Conduct training sessions.
Oversight and management of reconciliation of federal, state, institutional, and private loan aid programs.
Assesses program effectiveness and makes recommendations for improvements.
Oversees operation and administration of Financial Aid website updates.
Assists Executive Director with formulating department policies and procedures and implementing strategic priorities.
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local program regulations and audits and takes appropriate corrective action.
Responsible for updating forms to adhere to changing state and federal regulations.
Assists with the preparation of federal, state, and operational reports.
Maintains master calendar of all federal, state, and agency reporting dates to ensure compliance.
Other duties as assigned, including assisting with student traffic via phone, email, appointments, and events.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Eight years of related experience in higher education
Preferred:
Experience in financial aid.
Experience with Ellucian Banner Student Information System
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to meet deadlines and maintain a high level of accuracy, professionalism and a customer service mindset.
Knowledge of financial aid counseling, verification, rules and regulations.
Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet programs.
Ability to work individually or as a team in a dynamic organization.
Good interpersonal communication skills.
Must be literate in the English language and able to comprehend, give and follow both written and verbal instructions.
Ability to organize and make decisions.
Ability to relate well with the Tarleton State University student.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Ability to use tact, diplomacy, and judgment in dealing with all customers.
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Commensurate with experience
Salary Range
The starting salary is commensurate with experience with a rage of range is $65,370 to $92,831. Final salary may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
