Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Business Development Operations Senior Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Business Development Excellence team. This leadership role may be located in Falls Church, VA (preferred), Melbourne, FL, Redondo Beach, CA, or Palmdale, CA.
Job Description:
This leader will oversee, influence, develop, and manage the execution of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP), including the development of learning curriculum and digital tools. The selected candidate will join Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Systems Sector Strategy and Growth Team and report to the Senior Director of Business Development Operations.
The Business Development Operations Senior Manager position requires a strong leader with the ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels. The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations and collaborative/team settings across all levels of the organization (program through corporate).
Responsibilities of the position will include but are not limited to:
Pipeline
- Manage a team of three BD Ops analysts, ensuring development, integration and delivery of division-level operations data, information and products supporting Sector reporting requirements, including reports to sector as well as the integration of dashboards, metrics, and Salesforce pipeline and customer engagement data.
- Facilitate pipeline reviews with Strategy & Growth and Division leadership, including the preparation of readahead materials and delivering insights from pipeline and customer engagement data.
- Support the scheduling and execution of BAP Phase 1 Gate Reviews.
- Key Deliverables: oversee pipeline data fidelity; produce analysis assessing pipeline health; prepare recommendations for leadership priorities and actions; creation and distribution of readahead materials for pipeline reviews.
Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
- Serve as the sector focal point for tradeshow process and continuous process improvement. Take lessons learned both at the show level, but also specific to leadership to tailor the experience for the attendees to enable the most effective engagements.
- Serve as Strategy & Growth POC to assist in identifying best practices from trade shows to improve overall process.
- Support meeting and event management, to include trade shows and conferences, as needed.
- Develop best practices on CRM, including close collaboration with the Customer Engagement team, driving CRM data fidelity and delivering insights and perspectives to leadership with Salesforce and related tools.
- Key Deliverables: ensure CRM data fidelity; develop and iterate a tradeshow process covering domestic and international; develop CRM metrics and insights to drive continued improvement on customer engagements.
BD Excellence
- Lead sector implementation of BD best practices, including engagement planning, knowledge management and info sharing, rigorous opportunity management through the NGC Business Acquisition Process (BAP), and overall sector pipeline management.
- Coordinate with other NGAS and OneNG stakeholders to share best practices, support enterprise BD efforts, and ensure effective, results-driven unity of effort.
- Create and execute the Strategy & Growth learning and development curriculum.
- Serve as the focal point for communication, planning and collaboration of Strategic Growth initiatives and activities for NGAS and cross sector.
- Maintain the AS BD “homeroom” by identifying best practices and delivering to the BD team through training and digital tools.
- Act as POC for NGAS on business development processes and tools to internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead the NGAS implementation of enterprise Business Development Excellence effort.
- Key Deliverables: identify and track key metrics and indicators to drive continued improvement for Business Development and supported Business Acquisition teams; establish knowledge management database and training regimen for NGAS Business Development team.
General
- Drive execution of strategic initiatives and projects initiated by Strategy & Growth leadership by working with cross-functional teams and business leaders throughout the organization.
- Prepare leadership for meetings and events with agenda review, data collection, talking points, presentation materials, and logistical support.
- Manage the reporting of business development goals and activities.
- Support development of executive-level presentations.
- Develop BD Ops analysts’ talent and performance
- Perform other Operations & Integration duties upon request of the Director of S&G Business Development Operations.
- Key Deliverables: action ad hoc leadership requests and meet deadlines; establish a high performing team; mentor and develop team.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of related professional/military experience as defined below; or a Master’s degree and 8 years of related experience as defined below
- Related experience includes experience in business development, operations, program management, or project management
- Experience leading direct reports
- Experience with the business acquisition process (BAP) and/or capture management
- Experience in aerospace and defense industry
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Experience with data analysis and executive level reporting/presentation/presence
- Ability to rapidly build rapport and relationship as trusted advisor to Business Development team
- Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret security clearance
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Security Clearance
- Experience with the Northrop Grumman Business Acquisition Process (BAP)
- Experience working in a business development or capture roles
- Experience with Salesforce, LX, SharePoint, and Tableau
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks and projects within critical deadlines
- Strong data analytic capability and attention to detail and accuracy

Salary Range: $141,900.00 - $246,500.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
