Job Description:

Responsibilities

Health Research, Inc. is seeking an Hourly Project Assistant II to work with a well-established team of public health professionals across the Division of Science and the Bureau of Community Chronic Disease Prevention towards the advancement of the NYS Children’s Asthma Initiative (NYSCAI). The initiative is a collaboration with the American Lung Association whose mission is to address health equity and advance evidence-based strategies shown to reduce the burden of childhood asthma in New York through collaboration with multi-sector partners statewide. Workforce development approaches related to each intervention under NYSCAI are a primary focus as workforce training and capacity building will be essential to addressing health equity and improving access to services and care across prioritized communities.

 

The Hourly Assistant II will assist in evaluation efforts. The incumbent will collaborate and provide evaluation and data support to team members from NYSACP, ALA, and Boston Children’s Health Physicians to guide development and piloting of the Primary Care Asthma Preceptorship (PCAP.) The incumbent will assist in the monitoring, reporting, and documentation of additional training and capacity building metrics to contribute to the NYSACP’s Strategic Evaluation Plan.

Minimum Qualifications
Current enrolled student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics/Statistics or a related field and one year of experience in the collection and analysis of data; OR an Associate degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics/Statistics or a related field and two years of such experience; OR four years of such experience. A Bachelor’s degree or a Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of such experience.


Preferred Qualifications

Coursework or practical experience in program evaluation.

Conditions of Employment
Grant funded, hourly position expected to last through 12/13/2024. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.


Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting will not be available.

Travel, up to 10%, will be required.
