Role Context
The role reports to the Head of Wholesale, Southeast Asia. Responsible for the planning and execution of the sales strategy. The principal point of contact between abrdn and its customers, ensure clients have the right products and services, identify new markets and customer leads, and pitch prospective customers. The role holder will be expected to be flexible in working style, have a strong team ethos and work in partnership with other distribution functions including client services, marketing and investment specialists.
About the role
- Responsible for maintaining and expanding AUM mainly within the Financial Advisory and B2B/B2C platform channels, with some exposure (to grow over time) across the remaining spectrum of wholesale channels, including private banks, retail banks, insurance companies, wealth managers and family offices.
- Hold proactive dialogues with distributors on product highlights, market updates, key investment themes, etc. to support the sales momentum of abrdn products.
- Nurture existing client relationships, with particular emphasis on building good rapport with distributors’ product / fund selection teams and financial advisers / front-line sales teams.
- To conduct sales/product trainings for assigned intermediaries and make presentations to existing or prospective clients.
- Work closely with intermediaries and partners to develop effective marketing campaigns, with the goal of capturing larger share of the market.
- Work closely with marketing, client service, presentation team, RFP team, investment specialist, fund managers and other back office colleagues to ensure smooth and successful product/service delivery.
- Provide intelligence on market trends and client product demands to internal teams including management and product development team.
- Update meeting notes to Salesforce in a timely manner, with a clear and precise overview of the meeting.
- Provide certain level of support to the Singapore Wholesale team such as doing competitor analysis/fund comparisons, gathering market intelligence, tailoring sales pitch/messaging etc.

- In depth knowledge of investment products to engage a diversity of client to raise awareness of abrdn’s investment capabilities and potential.
Client Relationship Management
- To act as a conduit into investments for clients, identify client needs and coordinates efforts to serve assigned intermediaries.

- To conduct sales/product trainings for assigned intermediaries and make presentations to existing or prospective clients.
Reporting
- Meeting notes to be added to Salesforce or any other similar CRM system, in a timely manner, with a clear and precise overview of the meeting.
- To provide relevant and accurate management reporting for presentational purposes and as required by Team and Department Head.
- Ensure all client and regulatory reporting are completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner.
