Base salary will be in the range of $98,582 to $107,349 + 17% superannuation (HEW 7)

Join UQ’s Biological Resources team (UQBR) as a Senior Coordinator, Data Operations, where you will play a crucial role in leading the technical administration and management of vital data systems. This role is pivotal in overseeing the Animal Management Database and the Digital Ventilated Caging infrastructure, ensuring the seamless operation of these essential systems. Your expertise will contribute to the advancement of UQBR’s data capabilities, allowing for efficient and accurate data management across the organisation.
In this position, you will provide strategic technical leadership and collaborate with diverse stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions that enhance the functionality and reliability of UQBR's data systems. Your responsibilities will also include project management for continuous improvement initiatives, technical support, and training, as well as contributing to the development of business processes related to data management.

Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership for data administration and database management within UQ Biological Resources (UQBR), ensuring efficient and secure data operations.
Collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders across the University to ensure that appropriate data management solutions are implemented and maintained.
Act as the service owner and technical advisor for nominated services, providing senior technical advice, support, training, and mentoring to other team members.
Lead and manage advancements focused on the continuous improvement of data administration and database management services, including the adoption of new technologies.
Undertake various operational and administrative tasks, such as preparing business cases, managing work requests, ensuring timely resolution of customer issues, and promoting sound cyber security practices in line with University policies.

Qualifications in IT or Data Management equivalent to a degree, with at least four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education/training.
Proven experience in senior-level database administration, including operational process automation and managing complex data operations environments.
Strong technical knowledge and skills across various Database Management Systems, with a demonstrated ability to innovate and adopt new processes and technologies.
Strong interpersonal skills, with experience mentoring and training team members, and effectively collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Ability to independently prioritise workload, meet deadlines, and solve complex problems through research or collaboration.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including right to work in Australia, criminal check, education check, etc.
