Clio is more than just a tech company–we are a global leader that is transforming the legal experience for all by bettering the lives of legal professionals while increasing access to justice.
We are currently seeking a Group Product Manager to lead our "Practice Area" team. This role is crucial for supporting and advancing our products tailored to specific legal practice areas such as personal injury firms, legal aid firms, and future verticals. This role is available to candidates across Canada (excluding Quebec) and the US. If you are local to one of our hubs (Burnaby, Calgary, or Toronto) you will be expected to be in office minimum once per week on one of our Anchor Days.
What your team does:
The "Practice Area" team focuses on delivering and enhancing products that meet the specific needs of different legal practices. With a current emphasis on personal injury and legal aid firms initially, the team will also explore and expand into other areas, adapting Clio’s solutions and product suite to fit the unique needs of specialized legal firms and teams.
What you’ll work on:
Develop and champion a compelling product vision and strategy for Clio’s "Practice Area" products, ensuring alignment with Clio’s overall business goals and market demands.
Lead the ideation, planning, and execution of product initiatives that meet the distinct needs of each practice area, ensuring a holistic approach across the entire Clio suite of products.
Provide strategic leadership including direct management as well as acting PM responsibilities for critical product investments.
Empower teams through regular feedback and clear strategy, while maintaining a hands-on approach to manage the product execution for one of the teams directly. This dual focus requires that you not only guide your teams towards achieving their goals, but also stay deeply involved in the product development process.
Oversee the product lifecycle from conceptualization to launch, focusing on creating high-value features and enhancements that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of legal practices.
Implement agile methodologies and foster a culture of continuous improvement and rapid iteration within your team.
Work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to gather insights, feedback, and requirements that drive product improvements and innovations.
Build and maintain strong relationships across functional teams to ensure alignment and collaborative effort in product development.
Keep abreast of industry trends and competitive dynamics specific to the legal practice areas, using insights to inform product strategy and positioning.
What you bring:
Proven experience in product management leadership, preferably within technology solutions tailored to specific industry needs (legal technology experience is a plus!).
Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Strong understanding of the technologies and processes involved in supporting complex multi product suites, with an ability to guide technical discussions and decisions.
Exceptional leadership and communication skills, capable of bridging customer needs with technical capabilities, fostering teamwork and collaboration across departments.
Clear vision and the ability to rapidly gain conviction on key opportunities and areas of investment for the business.
Proven experience with both 0-1 and scaling existing products.
What you will find here:
