Contract Manager - IT Sourcing

Cleveland Clinic’s Department of Supply Chain Management drives the procure-to-pay process across the enterprise and aims to provide the best support to ensure seamless delivery of care to patients. As a Contract Manager, you will lead complex sourcing and contracting activity, execute procedures for contract analysis and compliance, analyze the current state, recommend changes, conduct sourcing events, implement programs to meet objectives and drive sourcing goals. 
 

A caregiver in this position works 8:00am – 5:00pm.  


A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Collaborate in the development and implementation of sourcing strategies designed to meet the enterprise goals. 

  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams across product categories to identify and recommend sourcing opportunities, including cost savings, value creation and risk management.  

  • Execute identified opportunities, perform related analysis and engage junior analysts where applicable. 

  • Lead multiple, complex contracts and sourcing events through entire life cycle.   

  • Independently prepare requests for proposals, information, quotation and reviews incoming bids against applicable criteria such as quality, price, product availability, distribution method, risk, etc. 

  • Lead complex contract negotiations and projects, including KPI development, and engage junior level analysts where applicable. 

  • Lead enterprise contract conversions and acquired hospital integration efforts.  

  • Evaluate opportunity, gain stakeholder buy-in, communicate product/service changes, coordinate training and ensure product/service is converted.  

  • Provide reporting on outcomes, including cost savings, value creation and risk mitigation. 

  • Lead legal review process and facilitate appropriate contract approvals (committees, review boards, etc.) in accordance with internal policies and compliance requirements.  

  • Review contract terms, changes or enhancements. 

  • Meet with sales representatives to evaluate new products and/or services. 

  • Review contractual performance to ensure compliance with terms and to identify conflicts or changes requiring resolution at contract renewal 

  • May lead or participate in vendor business reviews including KPI review and development of performance improvement plans. 

  • Independently prepare and present complex contract analysis, including rebate and compliance analysis, to cross functional teams. 

  • Model excellence in customer service. 

  • Lead by example demonstrating proper and appropriate professional and ethical relationships with all vendor representatives and conducts business according to established principles and guidelines. 

  • Review current information (such as advertising literature, trade journals, etc.) regarding assigned goods and services to remain up to date on applicable technologies. 

  • May lead Excelerate (GPO) contract negotiations and projects across multiple categories. 


Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, transportation and logistics, business or a related field.  

  • Five years of experience in forecasting, inventory, contract management, analytical project management or other related supply-chain experience.  

  • Experience with key financial and non-financial contract terms, legal issues and contract analysis.  

  • Ability to review, enhance, change and write contract language to exact terms and conditions required for prudent purchasing and sourcing practice.  

  • Ability to negotiate, influence and collaborate.  


Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Master’s degree.

Physical Requirements:

  • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
  • May require extended periods of standing, walking or sitting.
  • Good visual acuity through normal or corrected vision.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person.
  • May be required to drive personal vehicle to meetings, etc.
