Who we are looking for

VML is expanding its Retail Management Services (RMS) capability to support enterprise clients across Amazon, Walmart, and other leading retailers. Our Commerce practice helps brands win across marketplaces, retail media networks, and digital shelf environments. As retailers increasingly operate as both merchants and media platforms, our teams connect retail fundamentals, digital shelf performance, and retail media activation to drive measurable commercial outcomes.

We are seeking a Platform Specialist – Walmart (Scintilla) to lead performance signal monitoring and insight translation across Walmart Retail Management Services.

This role owns the Scintilla analytics environment, ensuring performance signals are monitored, translated, and prioritized into clear commercial actions across retail operations, digital shelf execution, and retail media investment.

Walmart’s ecosystem generates a large volume of performance data. This role ensures that data is not simply reported but translated into prioritized actions that improve retail performance and commercial outcomes.

The Platform Specialist works closely with the Walmart Connections Lead, RMS teams, and WPP Media partners to connect retail signals with operational execution and media optimization.

What you'll do

Scintilla Performance Monitoring

  • Own monitoring and interpretation of Walmart Scintilla dashboards and reporting environments
  • Maintain reporting hygiene and ensure consistency across performance tracking
  • Identify anomalies and performance shifts across product and category levels

Retail Signal Diagnostics

  • Diagnose item-level performance issues including:
  • Out-of-stock and availability signals
  • Inventory flow and replenishment performance
  • Organic rank and share-of-voice trends
  • Assortment and discoverability issues

Insight Translation

  • Translate Scintilla insights into prioritized commercial actions
  • Identify performance risks and growth opportunities across Walmart retail fundamentals
  • Develop clear recommendations that guide cross-functional execution teams

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with the Walmart Connections Lead to align insights with retailer strategy and priorities
  • Work closely with RMS platform specialists, content teams, and analytics teams
  • Collaborate with WPP Media teams to inform media allocation and optimization decisions

Performance Narrative Development

  • Support development of an integrated retail performance narrative for client discussions
  • Connect retail operations, digital shelf performance, and retail media signals into a cohesive story
  • Ensure data insights are translated into clear strategic recommendations

What you'll need

Experience

  • 5–7 years of experience in commerce analytics, retail media analytics, or Walmart commerce environments
  • Hands-on experience with Walmart Scintilla or Walmart supplier analytics platforms
  • Experience analyzing retail performance data and translating insights into operational actions

Skills

  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to identify performance trends and anomalies within complex retail data sets
  • Experience translating analytics into clear recommendations for cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills

Preferred

  • Experience supporting enterprise CPG brands at Walmart
  • Familiarity with Walmart Connect retail media signals and performance metrics
  • Experience working in agency, commerce consultancy, or supplier-side commerce teams
  • Experience working directly with Walmart merchants, replenishment teams, or supplier analytics environments strongly preferred; prior Walmart or Bentonville supplier ecosystem experience is a plus
