Job Description:

The Flight & Ambulance Strategic Clinical Coordinator provides leadership and coordination for patient transport across multiple facilities and teams in the region. The role focuses on ensuring safe, timely patient movement and supporting efficient operations by working closely with clinical teams, command centers, and transport partners.

Essential Functions

  • Provide leadership and support for patient transport activities across the region to ensure safe and timely care.
  • Help prioritize transport needs using organizational guidelines and clinical input.
  • Maintain awareness of overall transport activity, staffing, and regional operational conditions.
  • Demonstrates strategic management and clinical expertise to ensure sustainability and efficiency across all programs.
  • Work with local leaders to understand staffing needs and support planning across sites.
  • Promote safe work practices and support efforts to protect team well‑being.
  • Assist during regional challenges such as weather, delays, or high patient demand.
  • Support teams with complicated or cross‑facility transport situations.
  • Participate in regional meetings and daily check‑ins to share updates and address concerns.
  • Provide clear regional updates to leaders and partners.
  • Support early leadership responses during emergencies until formal structures take over.
  • Offer guidance and mentorship to team members across the region.
  • Carry out regional on‑call and leadership responsibilities related to transport operations.
  • Maintain community relationships to establish reliability and confidence in our programs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five years of experience in medical or critical‑care transport.
  • Strong understanding of transport operations and safety practices.
  • Effective communication and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and navigate fast‑moving situations.
  • Completion of required ICS 700 and ICS 800 courses.
  • Licensed as a registered nurse, nurse practitioner, paramedic, or respiratory therapist.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using common clinical and operational computer systems.
  • Previous involvement in incident command or emergency response activities.
  • Ten years of clinical transport or related experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information and operate computers
  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, care managers, dispatchers, and transfer center staff that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing
  • Expected to lift moderately heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs.)
  • May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. 

$35.25 - $54.39
