Job Summary

The Red Hat Technology Services team in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) is looking for a Platform Engineering Consultant to join us in Madrid, Spain. In this role, you will perform on-site delivery and implementation of modern Red Hat technology. You will focus on delivering quality work resulting in a positive customer experience, while building broad and deep technical expertise in Red Hat technologies. You'll gain understanding of our customers’ infrastructures and business needs and make recommendations appropriate to their environment to create possibilities and resolve issues. As a Platform Engineering Consultant, you will work closely with customers to gain an understanding of our customers' infrastructure with a particular focus on Red Hat OpenShift, application deployment  and business needs and make recommendations appropriate to their environment. You will also support other consultants, associates, and partners in developing best practices and methods, mainly based on OpenShift and related technologies.

What you will do

  • Serve as a subject matter expert at the customer site, addressing technical, development, or strategic IT requirements 

  • Manage problem identification, system architecture definition, software specification and design, implementation, testing, customer training, and deployment of enterprise-grade open source solutions

  • Understand industry practices and Red Hat's policies, procedures, and values

  • Demonstrate good judgment in selecting best methods to obtain solutions

What you will bring

  • Experience working directly with enterprise stakeholders on a range of development and deployment projects 

  • Demonstrated experience with and advanced knowledge of Istio (RH OpenShift Service Mesh)

  • Demonstrated experience with ArgoCD  (RH OpenShift GitOps)

  • Knowledge of and experience with Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and container technologies like Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Docker

  • Knowledge of continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) and related technologies as Jenkins, Tekton or similar

  • Ability to code in some programming languages (Go, Python, Java...)

  • Knowledge of Ansible and Automation 

  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies

  • Ability to communicate value, progress, and metrics of key projects to required stakeholders of technical and business audiences 

  • Willingness to travel up to 50%

  • Fluent language skills in Spanish and English 

The following will be a plus: 

  • Practical experience with agile methods  

  • Knowledge of application architecture, including application servers, integration patterns, microservices

  • Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence

  • Knowledge of Virtualization

  • Interest in, passion for, and experience working with open source technologies and communities
