Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization, Vertical Lift Division is seeking a Product Review Technician to join our Production Engineering team in Mesa, AZ.  Our team creates the next generation products and services for the BDS business unit.  Our Production Engineering team provides support throughout the Mesa site including: the AH-64 Apache Fabrication Centers of Excellence, Final Assembly and Production Flight Test areas.  Our group works all facets of engineering solutions from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments.

Position Responsibilities: 

Applies a broad knowledge of Boeing design principles to assess and resolve product/process issues through the product life cycle.  Seeking candidates with a working background and skills in the manufacturing and assembly of aerospace wire harnesses, wire bundles, and cable assemblies. Position requires analytical review of wiring discrepancies to engineering drawing and specification requirements for developing and applying formal solutions to correct those discrepancies.

  • Analyzes products for non-conformance and provides written disposition of production, test and post-production discrepancies; ensures configuration control.

  • Identifies deviations that could impact product integrity, safety, design and regulatory requirements.

  • Performs root causes analysis and develops corrective action for manufacturing, design and documentation issues.

  • Provides technical support to interpret design intent and troubleshoot.

  • Defines, initiates and approves technical content for revisions / improvements to product definition data. Audits suppliers/partners for nonconformance.

  • Contributes to development and administration of technical training.

  • Guides and mentors others.

  • Works under minimal direction.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.  

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):  (see required education and experience for this level below) 

  • 3 or more years of combination experience in manufacturing, fabrication or assembly. (e.g. - experience or training in HVAC, A&P, mechanical, electrical, automotive technician, aerospace industry, production operations specialist or Preliminary Review (PR) / limited PR authority).

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):

  • A working knowledge of wire harness assembly and functional test processes. 

  • A basic understanding of avionics/electrical/electronic systems.

  • A basic understanding of the Material Review Board (MRB) and Preliminary Review (PR) processes.

  • A basic understanding of Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) processes.

  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.

Typical Education/Experience: 

Level 3 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+1 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.).
