Collins Aerospace Brazing, a part of the RTX Corporation, is a brazing, machining, assembly and engineering company based out of Durham, New Hampshire.

Our Durham Brazing facility specializes in dip and vacuum brazing combined with highly sophisticated chassis testing. Our distinct process goes beyond traditional capabilities to deliver durable and highly efficient thermal solutions to aerospace, commercial and defense industries. Our operations are guided by a robust Quality Management System (QMS), and we proudly maintain certification to AS9100, the international standard for quality management in the aerospace industry. We are also Nadcap accredited for our special processes, further demonstrating our commitment to excellence and compliance with industry standards.

What You Will Do

As the Manager, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, you will lead a team of manufacturing, process and design engineers, technicians, and support the production maintenance team to ensure efficient and effective product designs and manufacturing processes. In this role, you will:

  • Oversee the development, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes to meet production goals, quality standards, and cost objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve product quality, ensuring alignment with AS9100 requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including planning, quality, and operations, to support new product introductions and resolve manufacturing challenges.
  • Guide innovation efforts for manufacturing capabilities by contributing to and executing elements of our innovation roadmap, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Play a critical role in sustaining our Nadcap accreditation efforts, ensuring special processes meet the rigorous requirements for certification.
  • Support the production maintenance team to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Mentor and develop team members to build technical expertise and leadership capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare reports to communicate progress and identify areas for improvement.

What You Will Learn

  • Advanced chassis design, brazing processes, manufacturing techniques and technologies in the aerospace, commercial and defense industries.
  • Formal training in CORE (Customer Oriented Results & Excellence), RTX’s operating system designed to drive continuous improvement and enhance operational performance.
  • Best practices for maintaining compliance with AS9100 standards and maintaining Nadcap accreditation.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams, including engineers, technicians, and maintenance personnel.
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and compliance with AS9100 standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in using manufacturing software and tools.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in the aerospace or defense industry.
  • Experience with Nadcap accreditation or special process compliance.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
