The Accelerated Cyber Defense Center (ACDC) Engineer is responsible for evaluating, engineering, and integrating emerging cybersecurity technologies to support the organization’s innovation and modernization efforts. This role drives the development, testing, and transition of new defense capabilities—from analytics and automation prototypes to next‑generation detection tools—into stable, production‑ready components of the security ecosystem. The engineer ensures the continued advancement and reliability of the Innovation Lab and maintains a pipeline of validated, high‑impact cybersecurity solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead evaluation, testing, and prototyping of emerging security technologies and advanced defense capabilities.
  • Engineer and integrate innovative tools into the Innovation Lab and prepare successful solutions for enterprise production.
  • Develop automation concepts, analytics models, and next‑generation detection techniques.
  • Maintain stability, scalability, and operational readiness of the Innovation Lab environment.
  • Collaborate with Cyber Defense, Engineering, Architecture, and Threat Intelligence teams to identify gaps and build transformative capabilities.
  • Document experimental findings, engineering designs, and transition plans for operational teams.
  • Support continuous modernization by maintaining a structured experimentation and validation pipeline.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Information Security Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Hands‑on experience with modern defense technologies, analytics platforms, or security automation tools.
  • Strong understanding of detection engineering, threat analysis, and emerging security trends.
  • Ability to design and test prototypes, evaluate new technologies, and integrate tools into hybrid/cloud environments.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting cybersecurity innovation, R&D, or advanced threat‑detection programs.
  • Familiarity with cloud architectures, automation frameworks, and data engineering concepts.
  • Certifications such as GIAC, CISSP, GCSA, or cloud security credentials.
  • Experience with scripting or automation (Python, PowerShell, or similar) to build prototypes or integrations.

    Pay Range
     

    Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

    $119,000.00 - $224,000.00
