Job Purpose

  • The VP & CMO works closely with both administrative staff and members of the medical staff and its leadership to maintain the high quality of medical care and to help lead the medical staff participation in furthering the mission of the organization. The VP & CMO is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the medical staff services for the entire organization including both acute care campuses and all outpatient facilities. The position assists the medical staff in formulating standards of care and strategic directions for quality, facilitates communication between the medical staff and administration, and ensures positive medical staff relations. The position reports to the President of MDMC and the Methodist Health System Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer on operational performance, function, and implementation of plans for achieving short and long-range objectives.

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Master’s Degree in Healthcare, with Business Administration or Healthcare Administration preferred. 

Licenses and/or Certifications:

  • MD or DO with board certification, and must maintain board certification
  • Professional license to practice medicine in the state of Texas
