About the Role:

We are hiring a Software Engineering Lead to help establish and guide a newly formed squad in Mexico, responsible for a core module within a SaaS product (Interfolio). This role blends technical leadership with people leadership and plays an important part in expanding team capacity, improving delivery, and supporting a product used by customers globally. The Software Engineering Lead will support technical decision‑making, mentor engineers, and help resolve complex technical challenges while collaborating closely with the Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and support a cross‑functional squad that includes software engineers and quality engineers.
• Provide technical leadership through guidance on architecture, troubleshooting, and solution design.
• Support the team by reviewing code, debugging issues, and helping remove technical blockers.
• Balance people leadership responsibilities with hands‑on technical support as needed.
• Mentor engineers, encourage best practices, and foster an inclusive, collaborative, and high‑quality team culture.
• Partner with the Engineering Manager to align delivery, priorities, and overall team effectiveness.

Requirements:

• Professional experience in software engineering, typically gained over several years in production environments.
• Hands‑on full‑stack experience using Angular, Ruby on Rails, and AWS in cloud‑based production systems.
• Experience leading, supporting, and developing engineers, including prior responsibility for direct reports.
• Strong technical foundation with the ability to read, write, and troubleshooting code, even if daily coding is not required.
• Experience supporting, operating, and improving production systems.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to mentor others, manage multiple priorities, and approach complex problems thoughtfully.
• Willingness to go into the office twice a week in Reforma.
