Nursing on the 41-bed couplet care Mother-Baby Unit at Butterworth Hospital will offer you a fast-paced, challenging career. Additionally, we have two nurseries for our newborn guests all supported by a team of 100 team members. Our unit provides compassionate, patient-family centered care to our families. You will enjoy working with our professional, multidisciplinary staff consisting of nurses, lactation consultants, educators, social worker and other dedicated personnel.

Scope of work

Assumes shift accountability for managing, supervising, and coordinating the operational and financial effectiveness and efficiency of the nursing service/ unit of the hospital. Some service lines may require the ability to be available for on-call to better support the nursing service/unit. Additionally, Inpatient Supervisors may be required to fill-in for the hospital supervisor as needed. Key responsibilities include assisting with the following: clinical support, unit based goal setting, program development, fiscal management, resource allocation, standards of care, policy and procedure development and interpretation, performance improvement, performance correction, and coaching and mentoring.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) Required.
  • Master’s degree in nursing (MSN) Preferred.
  • 1+ years of relevant clinical experience Required.
  • Women and Infant Services clinical experience Preferred.
  • Completion of a Nurse Executive Council approved leadership development educational program within 1 year of position entry Required.
  • MI RN License Required.
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.
  • AHA or AAP Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) within ninety days Required.
