Job Summary:

The Storage & VMware Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing enterprise storage systems and VMware infrastructure. This role involves ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of storage and virtualization environments, troubleshooting issues, and providing technical expertise to support the organization's IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage enterprise storage solutions, including SAN, NAS, and DAS. For VMware infrastructure, including ESXi hosts, vCenter, and virtual machines.
  • Monitor and optimize storage & Vmware performance and capacity.
  • Ensure data integrity, availability, and security through regular backups and disaster recovery planning.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve storage-related issues and provide technical support
  • Ensure the stability, security, and scalability of the virtualization environment.
  • Provide advanced technical support for storage and VMware environments.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to storage and virtualization infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of storage and VMware systems.
  • Implement and maintain security measures to protect storage and VMware environments.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate security risks.
  • Project Management:
  • Lead and participate in storage and virtualization-related projects, including upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, and ensure projects are completed on time and within scope.
  • Coordinate with other IT teams and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for storage and VMware configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Generate reports on storage and VMware performance, capacity, and utilization.
  • Provide regular updates to management on storage and VMware activities and progress.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Drive innovation within the team to adopt new tools and technologies that improve the storage and VMware environment.

Skills :

  • Strong technical expertise in storage technologies (e.g., SAN, NAS, DAS) and VMware products (e.g., ESXi, vCenter).
  • Proficiency with storage management tools and VMware administration tools.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in storage management and VMware infrastructure roles.
  • Proven experience with enterprise storage solutions and VMware technologies.
