Role Overview

 The Product Analyst for the Data Platform acts as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure that data solutions meet organizational needs. 

This role focuses on gathering requirements, requirements analysis, data analysis, designing data products

What will you do in this role

  •  
    • Collaborate with business units to understand data needs, workflows, and consumption use cases related to data and data products.
    • Document functional and non-functional requirements for data platform features.
    • Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
    • Collaborate data engineers and perform data analysis, data mapping on the source system data.
    • Work closely with data engineers, architects, product managers.
    • Ensure alignment of data models, governance policies, and integration strategies
    • Support implementation of data quality, security, and compliance standards.
  • Stakeholder Communication
    • Act as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders during project lifecycle.
    • Prepare clear documentation: user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
    • Facilitate demos, and training sessions for end-users.
  • Testing & Validation
    • Develop test cases and validate data platform functionalities against requirements.
    • Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and ensure timely issue resolution.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Identify opportunities to optimize data processes and enhance platform usability.
    • Monitor KPIs and provide insights for platform performance improvements.

What should you have

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business, or related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years as a Business Analyst in data-centric projects.
  • Strong understanding of data platforms, data governance, and ETL processes.
  • Familiarity with cloud data services (e.g., Azure, AWS) and data modeling concepts.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Power BI/Spotfire
  • Experience in Agile methodology
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to data cataloguing, data lineage tracking and metadata management tools
