POSITION SUMMARY:

As an Actuarial Analyst, you will perform intermediate analyses and provide actuarial support for producing financial results. This position works closely with the VP Valuation, Chief Actuary, Director Modeling Actuary, Accounting, and Finance to develop appropriate tools and procedures to reporting financial results.  Pursuing actuarial accreditation (ASA, FSA).


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contribute to monthly, quarterly and annual valuation processes. Deliver timely, accurate and auditable reports for GAAP, Statutory, and Tax as well as analysis of financial trends and forecasts
  • Create clear documentation and notes supporting new processes
  • Identify opportunities to enhance analysis and improve efficiencies and assist with the implementation
  • Work closely with business partners to support bringing external consultant valuation processes, management reporting, and analysis in house
  • Contribute to the production of and monitoring of product line profitability (GAAP, value-added, statutory, etc.)
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests
  • Communicate effectively with management and team members
  • Develop skills through continuing education opportunities
  • Meet expectations for Society of Actuaries (SOA) exam progress and/or continuing education
  • Adhere to internal and external compliance requirements/standards
  • Assist management on any ad hoc requests

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics or related field
  • 1 or more years of actuarial experience, Life valuation experience preferred
  • Successful completion of 1 or more actuarial exams
  • Experience with actuarial modeling software (e.g. GGY-AXIS, MG-ALFA, PolySystems, etc.) preferred
  • Proficiency in Excel and VBA
  • Proficiency in SQL or SAS
  • Analytical skills
  • Knowledge of actuarial valuation methodologies and practices

  • The range for this position is $53,600 to $93,700. When determining candidate offers, we consider experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location among other factors.  This job is also eligible for our Kemper benefits package (Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401k, etc.)  
  • This is a remote role and can be worked from any US-Based home.
