Medical Assistant Apprentice Candidates Wanted
Have you ever thought about entering the medical field, but you do not have the education, experience, or money to enter this profession? We, at Colorado Physician Partners, can assist a handful of candidates who are dedicated to enter this profession to obtain a national recognized certification as a Medical Assistant.
We partner with Front Range Community College, Arapahoe Community College and the State of Colorado to bring potential candidates a “learn while you earn” educational-based work program.
Following clinic location is available as an option for the program:
- Family Medicine Clinic – Littleton, CO
Qualified candidates should be able to demonstrate the following:
- Commitment to improve the experience and delivery of care for patients.
- Be able to manage time well to navigate a large courseload (online and in-person) while being employed.
- Excellent communication skills at the level necessary for taking patients' medical histories, understanding provider and supervisor’s instructions, and for accurately documenting patients' medical information.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong critical thinking, problem solving, organization skills, and attention to detail.
- Demonstrates flexibility and can effectively manage multiple demands concurrently with ease.
- Able to follow established protocols to assist the clinicians with patient care tasks, including medication refills, relaying test results, phone triage for acute medical concerns, care coordination, referrals management, and scheduling patients.
- Able to provide initial medical screening: Greets patients and directs them to appropriate exam room. Takes weight, height, temp, blood pressure, and basic medical history; accurately documents in medical chart according to generally accepted medical standards.
- High level of discretion, integrity, and adherence to HIPPA standards.
- Basic computer skills and accuracy in spelling
Qualified Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent certificate
Education (LEARN) Summary (For Front Range only):
- 2000 hours of on-the-job training (paid) with support and guidance. Successful program completion will allow the apprentice to earn a certificate through the USDOL/Colorado State Apprenticeship Agency for Medical Assisting.
- 26 credit hours and hands-on clinical skills education through Front Range Community College. Program completion will grant the candidate a certificate in Medical Assisting.
- 20-week related instruction training program including online coursework and 10 weeks of hands-on clinical skills
- At the end of the related instruction, apprentice will sit for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification.
- Federal Financial Aid eligible program
- Workforce eligible program for tuition and additional financial assistance
- Wrap-around support from dedicated Apprentice Program Manager and faculty
Education (LEARN) Summary (For ACC only):
- 2000 hours of on-the-job training (paid) with support and guidance. Program completion will grant the apprentice a certificate through the USDOL for Medical Assisting.
- 29 credit hours and hands-on clinical skills education through Arapahoe Community College. Program completion will grant the candidate a certificate in Medical Assisting.
- 26-week training program including 15 weeks of hands-on clinical skills
- At the end of the program, apprentice will sit for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification.

- Workforce eligible program for tuition and additional financial assistance
- Class books and materials are included in the tuition
- Wrap-around support from dedicated Apprentice Navigator
