About the team: This Team supports of our Clinical Path Oncology solution to deliver evidence-based oncology decision support and analytics for physicians

About the role:  As a Software Engineering Manager at Elsevier, you will be responsible for leading and managing multiple diverse teams of software engineers.  The role will lead the development and support of our Patient Engagement Solutions to provide current and credible education for patients and clinicians.  You will work closely with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely delivery of projects. 

Responsibilities:

  • Leading and managing a team of software developers to deliver high-quality software solutions
  • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to the team members, fostering their professional growth and development. Setting clear goals and expectations for the teams, ensuring alignment with the overall company objectives.
  • Driving continuous improvement in software development processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Collaborating with product managers and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Collaborating with architecture and other cross-functional teams to design and implement core components of our products.  
  • Ensuring timely delivery of projects and meet project deadlines
  • Ensuring effective communication and coordination within the teams and with other departments.
  • Staying current with industry trends and to drive innovation and efficiency

Qualifications:

  • Possess experience in software development, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership role
  • Have an extensive understanding of the following technologies: SMART on FHIR, AWS, Java, React, Postgres, CI/CD, Docker, Terraform, New Relic
  • Possess Healthcare software development experience including auditing and regulatory requirements
  • Have expertise in quarterly planning, resource estimation, project management, and budget management
  • Current experience leading global development teams
  • Possess current  leadership and people management skills and expertise
