The Role:

As a Risk & Compliance Specialist, you will provide advice and guidance to enhance RAC Insurance’s risk management and compliance practices. You will assess incidents, conduct control testing, and monitor key risk indicators, ensuring that all actions support our commitment to excellent service for our members.

This role is offered on a Full Time, Maximum Term Contract until 30 September 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Triage reported incidents to assess compliance and operational impacts.
  • Investigate incidents thoroughly, ensuring all relevant scenarios are identified.
  • Capture investigation data in the risk management system and recommend improvements.
  • Escalate material or systemic incidents and manage resolution through issue management.
  • Conduct control testing and document outcomes, providing feedback to control owners.
  • Monitor and update key risk indicators.
  • Educate stakeholders on risk management practices to foster a strong risk culture.
  • Continuously enhance personal and team knowledge of risk and compliance.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience in risk or compliance management within a regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with APRA standards, the General Insurance Code of Practice, and ASIC regulatory guides, including breach reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills for root cause analysis and practical problem-solving.
  • Ability to relate incident management to member impact, keeping their needs central.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with internal stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • A proactive approach to learning and sharing knowledge.
  • Qualifications in insurance, financial services, risk management, or a related field (desirable).
