The role:

The position is intended for a senior professional with proven experience in international projects in the Security domain. It requires a combination of advanced technical security expertise and strong coordination, managerial, and stakeholder-facing skills, as well as the ability to operate effectively in dynamic, multicultural working environments, which characterize the Spaceopal nominal setup. The role may require close interaction with international institutions such as ESA (European Space Agency), EUSPA (European Union Agency for the Space Programme), national authorities, and industrial partners, along with strong teamwork and leadership capabilities.

The role requires frequent long business trips to Munich.

Main responsibilities:

• Threat monitoring and risk assessment
• Cybersecurity architecture and operations
• Security accreditation and compliance processes
• Incident response and mitigation strategies
• Proactive contribution to proposal preparation, security plans, contract change preparation, and technical documentation for projects such as GSOp

The resource shall also have a deep understanding of, and mastery over, the strategic and technical guidance provided by Spaceopal Management, including directives related to innovation and continuous improvement, particularly in view of the adoption and implementation of innovative processes, tools, and systems such as a Central Defence Hub.

Required qualification and experience:

• University degree in a relevant field (e.g. Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Physics) and/or an appropriate high school qualification
• At least 7 years of relevant work experience
• Fluent written and spoken English; knowledge of German and/or Italian would be a plus
• Strong teamwork attitude, including the ability to leverage resources not directly reporting to the role
• Demonstrated experience in technical leadership roles within large space projects
• Experience in similar activities is required, preferably acquired in Space or Defence programs, or in highly security-sensitive commercial sectors
• Experience within the Galileo program will be considered a strong asset
