Revenue Management Business Partner (Billing Officer)

Join our dynamic Finance team in Amsterdam as a fulltime Revenue Management Business Partner (Billing Officer). In this role, you will be at the heart of our billing process, engaging with various facets of revenue management and client interactions. This is a future-facing role in an ambitious and successful law firm, offering pro-active and value-added support from Finance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES        

Collaborating with a dedicated team of six colleagues, you will oversee the accurate execution of all administrative processes in Amsterdam. You will regularly interact with Fee Earners and Secretaries at our Amsterdam office and work closely with our colleagues in Newcastle. You will also support Partners at our Brussels office, which may involve periodic travel to Brussels.

  • WIP Management – Organising and holding monthly WIP review meetings with Partners to promote instructions for billing and matter maintenance requirements. Ensure that matter billing estimates are updated in the system. Attending to dormant WIP balances.
  • Revenue Management – Acting as the senior escalation point for Partners where revenue management or matter setup issues occur, working closely with colleagues across Revenue Operations. Owning queries around the revenue and billing process until resolution.
  • Client interaction – Liaising with clients on several requests and assist Partners with fee updates.
  • Pricing support – Under the guidance of the Pricing and Commercial Insights (PCI) team, provide basic pricing support and client analysis. Also assist in the annual client rate review process.
  • Risk management – Ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory bodies and EMEA working capital policies.
  • Improvements – Identifying, evaluating and prioritising actionable improvements to liberate significant cash from working capital.
  • Policies and local regulation – Review billing guides, invoices and credit notes received from Fee Earners and Secretaries for compliance with the firm’s policies and local regulations.
  • First Finance – As an expert user of First Finance suite, promote and train Fee Earners in its use.
  • EMEA community – Contribute to the EMEA community of Revenue Business Partners, sharing best practice and providing support as needed.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

To excel in this role, we are seeking for someone who brings relevant experience and, above all, a proactive mindset. Your ability to communicate effectively, manage complex tasks, and maintain a high level of accuracy will be essential to your success in this role.

  • 3+ years’ experience within professional services business supporting Partners with revenue management with demonstrable technical finance experience.
  • Finance Business Partnering experience with senior stakeholders. Excellent soft skills including the ability to influence or challenge senior stakeholders when necessary.
  • Attention to detail is crucial, but so is the ability to see the bigger picture.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication. Fluent in English, both orally and written. While  Dutch is not considered necessary but advantageous.
  • Emotionally resilient and has strength of personality to ensure the perspective of Finance is clearly communicated, even under pressure.
  • A continuous improvement mentality supporting the development of yourself, colleagues, and business processes and interactions.
  • A collaborative team-player with a can-do attitude who is transparent and has a straight-forward approach.
