Job specifications – Controllership Associate

This role is primarily to support the Controllership team with their monthly/quarterly/yearly reporting and other local statutory reporting obligations.

  • Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close process including reconciliation
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting including the preparation of statutory accounts (audits)
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Support in the accounting operations including A/R, A/P, GL, cash collection, cash management and capital expenditure
  • Manage in/outsourced functions where appropriate
  • Manage and comply with local reporting requirements and tax filings where applicable
  • Create additional analyses and reports as requested by management
  • Help with the planning and coordination of US GAAP and IFRS audit timetables, ensuring deadlines are met. Helping gather audit support, self-managing incoming requests/workload, answering audit questions which may require investigating, liaising with internal teams for support and explanations
  • Participation in the preparation of the MENA VAT/CIT/WHT returns
  • Ad hoc tasks or projects as required.

Qualifications and experience

  • 2+ years of experience, part to full qualification in ACA, ACCA, CIMA
  • Strong technical experience in US GAAP and IFRS, prior audit experience preferred.
  • Ability to work with large data sets.
  • IT literate
  • Experience of working effectively to meet multiple deadlines
