Job Description:

Overall Purpose

Product Management Specialist shall assist the Head of Product Management in ensuring the Product Development Process (PDP) for Sun Life’s operations in the Philippines is being carried out as prescribed in the operating guidelines.  He/She shall ensure that the delivery of all requirements of the PDP is within timelines and that all product development activities by all functions involved, are effectively managed throughout the process

In addition, the Specialist shall assist in the development of competitive and appealing product positioning and in the production of product marketing and communication materials, both for internal and external distribution.  He / She shall also assist in contributing to product research initiatives that would support conceptualization and development of client-centric solutions.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

1) Product Management

• Manage and coordinate the activities of all functions during the entire product development process. Assist in identifying and removing any obstacles that hinder team’s progress.  
• Act as coordinator and scribe of the regular product development group meetings as well as other adhoc meetings. Assist the product manager in ensuring efficient and collaborative discussions during meetings.
• Produce regular reports to keep track of progress and status of all products under development.  
• Assist in managing project timelines related to product development to ensure target launch dates for new products and new initiatives are met and all relevant parties have been involved.

2) Product Marketing and Product Research

Assist the Product Management Team in overseeing the launch and marketing of new product solutions and in executing extensive product research, such as:

• Assist in developing marketing plans and promotional activities for new product launches as well as developing other product-related initiatives and campaigns
• Assist in writing / copywriting of product collaterals and creative writing of product advertorials
• Participate in the UAT of the Proposal Systems and monitoring of digital media platforms in terms of content, look and design.
• Contribute to regular management reports, competitor analysis and monthly industry updates by gathering competitor information (i.e. proposals, product collaterals, etc.) and latest news / trends in the market
• Prepare monthly and quarterly Fund Performance Reports (i.e. VUL Fund Fact Sheets) used by clients and advisors

3) Perform other related duties as may be assigned by the immediate superiors.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of prior working experience (insurance or non-insurance related industry), preferably with a balance in product management, product marketing, and research.
