The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in Medical Affairs is responsible for delivering scientific expertise and co-leading the execution of Medical Affairs activities related to assigned products and therapy areas. As a medical expert, the MSL engages in insight seeking and scientific communication through peer-to-peer exchanges and group interactions with Key External Experts (KEEs). The role also involves developing scientific content, materials, and slide decks for internal and external use.

This role in field based with adjustable development plan to be more involved in strategic planning of asset/medical plan.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to start/progress YOUR career.  These responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Individual to represent the med affairs function as part of the vaccine cross functional team, engaging key external and internal stakeholders
  • They will be accountable for leading external scientific/clinical exchange with the scientific and medical community and to bring the medical voice of the customer back into the organization (includes 1:1 interaction, advisory boards, medical education, congress presentations, publication and congress sponsorships).
  • The individual will be responsible scientific exchange, insight collection, execution together with therapeutic area lead on the asset responsible. The expectation of MSL is to be at peer to peer level of scientific dialogue with healthcare professional in the asset responsible.
  • Develop and implement EE (external experts) engagement plan, and maintain strong scientific relationship with EEs of strategic importance.
  • Recognize and capture medical insights or intelligence, feedback to medical and cross-functional organizations to be actioned in support of the strategy development.
  • Deliver GSK product/pipeline asset specific training, and provide key scientific updates to external and internal stakeholders (Commercial, Market access, HEOR, PV, Regulatory, etc.)
  • As necessary, initiate and support local data generation activities including scientific publication, company-sponsored research and local trials programs (e.g., Phase IV studies, IIS (investigator-initiated studies), NIS (non-investigate study), PMS (post marketing surveillance), EAP (expanded access program) etc under the leadership of TA lead.
  • Provide responses to unsolicited request for medical information as appropriate per GSK policy and ways of working
  • Leverage medical and scientific knowledge to ensure that all materials produced are medically and scientifically accurate and in compliance with local and GSK requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Advanced postgraduate scientific degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, or MSc). Clinical pharmacy experience or expertise in vaccines or hematology/oncology is a plus.
  • Strong ability to apply scientific knowledge and interpret both prospective and retrospective data.
  • Proactive relationship management with internal and external partners, including KEEs and global stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated capability to work strategically with commercial functions.
  • Solid understanding of the Taiwanese healthcare environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; fluency in English and Mandarin is a plus.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to travel over 70% of the time.
  • Flexibility and agility to adapt to a fast-changing environment.
