We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to join our team and support the design, pre-construction, and project controls functions for a major Water infrastructure project. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in translating engineering designs into clear, actionable construction work packages that ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution on site at the Thames Water plant at Coppermills in London E17.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Work Package Development

• Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs), scope of work narratives, and quantity take-offs.
• Lead scope reviews to ensure all technical details are captured for execution.
• Produce and oversee technical documentation to support pre-construction planning.

Construction Planning & Methodology

• Develop construction execution plans and work sequences.
• Provide constructability feedback and identify potential clashes or logistical challenges.
• Communicate technical plans across design, engineering, and contractor teams.

Cost & Scope Definition

• Support procurement with detailed technical input during the tender process.
• Ensure pricing aligns with work package requirements.
• Maintain documentation of pricing assumptions and prepare scope clarifications.

Essential Requirements

Candidates must meet all of the following criteria to be considered:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in mechanical engineering on large-scale projects.
• Proven experience preparing technical construction documents (SOWs, BOQs).
• Strong understanding of construction methods and constructability principles.
• Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and written communication skills.
