Job Description

Butterfly’s Senior Program Manager is responsible for leading cross-functional coordination and delivery of programs - from ideation through to launch, including timeline, budget and resource management, based on input from all contributing teams. They own ensuring execution through phase gates and communicating high level updates.  They provide input to evolve the product development process and tooling based on lessons learned. 

As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be to: 

• Manage multiple projects / programs full life cycle - from ideation through to delivery - aligned with Design Controls, HPLC, SDLC requirements. 
• Manage cross-functional timelines, budgets, resources and deliverables to ensure execution of programs to defined goals. 
• Build comprehensive program plans based on input from cross-functional teams and hold teams accountable to their commitments, milestones, resources and deliverables.  
• Provide early visibility if a program or contributing project is going off track or encounters a major risk, especially for those impacting timelines and budgets. 
• Escalate cross-functional program risks, resource needs, priority conflicts to appropriate product/program or functional managers. 
• Clearly and concisely communicate cross-functional updates and program status. 
• Train more junior project managers to build this core competency across Butterfly.
• Drive on-going process improvements based on lessons learned. 
• Perform a broad variety of tasks in support of the role and responsibilities.

 

Qualifications

Baseline skills/experiences/attributes:

• 8+ years experience as a Program / Project Manager in a technical field
• Demonstrated program / project management delivery track record
• Strong written and verbal communication skills at the executive level
• Proficiency in planning tools and systems (Gantt charts, Resource planning)
• Experience defining and implementing pragmatic processes targeted to an organization’s evolving needs  
• Able to manage through ambiguity, define critical tasks and drive collaboration
• Able to package complex material to enable clear decision options around priorities and trade-offs 
• Thrives in a fast-paced high-growth environment, working with dynamic priorities and deadlines

 

Ideally, you also have these skills/experiences/attributes (but it’s ok if you don’t!):

• Experience defining and implementing new processes and tools
• Experience in a regulated industry (ex. Healthcare, Finance)
• PMI PMP or equivalent certification

Location

Butterfly offers a hybrid work model for most positions, with team members spending two or more days a week in the office. While flexibility is key, we value in-person connections that spark creativity and teamwork. Our offices are designed for collaboration, with comfortable workspaces, stocked kitchens, and opportunities to connect with peers.

This is a hybrid position and will be based out of our office in New York City, NY.

Compensation 

Our estimated salary for this role is between $170,000 - $180,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Actual pay is determined by multiple factors such as skills, qualifications, experience and market demand.

For this role, we are only considering candidates who are legally authorized to work in the United States and who do not now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visa status.
