Corteva Agriscience™ has an exciting and challenging opportunity for Chemical Risk Assessor.
Chemical Risk Assessor - is a chemical legislation professional with strong expertise in EMEA regulatory frameworks governing industrial and agrochemical substances. The profile is characterised by in-depth knowledge of key regulations including REACH, CLP, BPR and Pesticides, together with an informed understanding of wider EU and regional policy initiatives such as the Chemical Strategy for Sustainability and their implications for the agrochemical sector.
The role requires a solid technical foundation in chemical hazard characterisation, including (eco)toxicological and physical hazards, and a clear understanding of how intrinsic hazard data is translated into regulatory obligations. This includes the preparation and submission of CLP notifications and Poison Centre Notifications to ECHA, as well as engagement with other competent authorities across EMEA jurisdictions (e.g. UK and Turkey).
The profile demonstrates practical competence in the use of regulatory IT tools, notably IUCLID for regulatory submissions and SAP (or equivalent systems) for the internal management of chemical and regulatory data. Experience includes applying chemical risk assessment and risk management methodologies in line with EU and UK regulatory requirements, typically gained within a regulated industry environment.
Individuals operating at this level are able to analyse complex scientific and technical documentation with a high degree of accuracy, while maintaining a strategic overview to identify proportionate and effective regulatory solutions. They work independently with confidence, contribute effectively to cross-functional and cross-regional collaboration, and support project delivery through strong organisational and prioritisation skills. The profile also encompasses the ability to build constructive professional relationships and, where relevant, to provide guidance or mentoring to colleagues.
