About the Opportunity:

St Vincent’s Private Hospital Brisbane is seeking a Counsellor to join our Specialist Palliative Care Team, on a casual basis. This role works within the interdisciplinary team to support people, their families and career’s through the provision of timely and effective, individual, group and family counselling. The role contributes to the overall effectiveness of the interdisciplinary team and provides education for patients, their families and hospital employees as directed.

Things that work for us:

  • Ability to work on a casual basis

  • Experience in a Palliative Care setting (essential)

  • Masters in counselling (preferred)

  • Commitment to professional development and quality assurance

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Flexible approach and the ability to respond to a changing environment

  • Uphold and promote the goals and vision of the Hospital

  • Personally model, articulate and integrate mission and values of SVPHB into the work environment

  • A desire to acquire and/’or continue formal Counselling qualifications
