What Production Operation contributes to Cardinal Health:


The Cost Accountant is responsible for analyzing manufacturing variances and provides support to local and corporate teams with reliable and clear information to aid in decision-making. They have a solid understanding of month-end closing processes and adhere to accounting policies when preparing reconciliations and financial reports. They are a professional with strong communication, organizational, and planning skills. They support the monitoring of activities that improve the company's financial performance and participate in continuous improvement by contributing ideas.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2+ years in cost accounting or manufacturing variance analysis.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • SAP (preferred).
  • Conversational English. Ability to read and write emails, attend and participate in basic meetings, required.
  • Analytical and problem-solving oriented.
  • Knowledge of accounting mapping and processes.
  • Ability to work with multicultural and cross-functional teams.
  • What is expected of you and other professionals in this role:
  • Prepare and present manufacturing variance analyses (MUV, PPV, OVH, Labor, etc.).
  • Experience in manufacturing expense analysis (desirable).
  • Support the preparation of weekly financial projections.
  • Support monthly closing activities.
  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Participate in the annual budget and forecast.
  • Prepare and present financial analyses as required.
  • Conduct analyses to identify risks and opportunities.
