WHO YOU ARE:

As a seasoned Engineering Manager specializing in data engineering, you bring extensive expertise in optimizing data workflows using various database tools like Oracle, BigQuery, and SQL Server. You possess a deep understanding of ELT/ETL processes, data integration, and have a strong command of Python for data manipulation and automation tasks. Your leadership skills shine as you guide your team in delivering high-quality support, ensuring data integrity, and driving operational excellence within the data engineering domain. You thrive in dynamic environments, leveraging your technical acumen and strategic vision to streamline processes and maximize efficiency.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Lead a team of software engineers and data specialists within the Interface team, providing guidance and mentorship to optimize data workflows and processes using ELT/ETL tools and Python.
  • Oversee the resolution of complex data-related issues, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to minimize disruptions and maintain data integrity throughout the data lifecycle.
  • Drive the design, configuration, and optimization of data integration workflows, utilizing your expertise in database tools like Oracle, BigQuery, SQL Server, and Python for scripting and automation.
  • Champion the adoption of best practices and standards for data quality, governance, and performance optimization within the data engineering context.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable plans for data operations within the Interface team.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to enhance data processing efficiency and scalability specifically within the data engineering framework.
  • Conduct regular performance analyses and implement strategies for continual improvement, ensuring operational excellence within the Interface team.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the Interface team.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 8-12 years of experience in data operations, data engineering, or a similar role, with a proven track record of leadership and project management within the data engineering domain.
  • Strong expertise in data integration, transformation, and scheduling processes using tools like Oracle, BigQuery, SQL Server, and Python for scripting and automation.
  • Proficiency in ELT/ETL processes and tools such as Informatica, DBT, Airbyte, Singer.io, Meltano, Apache Airflow or similar within the context of data engineering.
  • In-depth understanding of data warehousing concepts, practices, and technologies relevant to data engineering.
  • Knowledge of data quality and governance principles, with experience implementing best practices within the data lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based environments and technologies, including data platforms and services, as they relate to data engineering.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and drive results in a fast-paced environment within the Interface team.
