Job Description Summary

U.S. Bank National Association is seeking a Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) Risk & Compliance Specialist (RCS) to support multiple risk domains within our TPRM program. This role is ideal for professionals who thrive in collaborative environments, possess a strong risk-oriented mindset, and are passionate about safeguarding the organization through effective risk oversight.

As an RCS, you will partner with Business Lines, Third Parties, and Risk/Compliance/Audit (RCA) professionals to conduct risk assessments and perform risk-based reviews of domain-specific contract language. Risk domains may include Country Risk, Fourth Party Risk, Artificial Intelligence, and Physical Security.

The successful candidate will become a subject matter expert in current processes and demonstrate a strong credible challenge mindset. Building and fostering cross-functional relationships is essential—not only within TPRM but also with supporting groups such as Privacy, Information Security, Resilience, and Compliance. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, and/or Security+ are preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop a strong understanding of risk domains and maintain a risk-focused mindset.
• Assess and credibly challenge risk-related responses and documentation (e.g., policies, procedures, evidence)
• Independently identify and document risk control deficiencies.
• Establish risk-based Control Effectiveness Ratings.
• Stay current on emerging risk trends through ongoing education and certifications.
• Recommend enhancements to TPRM and RCS processes.
• Analyze complex TPRM issues and provide insights to management and senior leadership.
• Prepare concise, meaningful management-level reporting.
• Drive thought leadership and continuous improvement in RCS processes.
• Perform risk reviews for domain-specific contract deviations and advise on materiality of changes.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or advanced degree, or equivalent work experience
• Three to five years of relevant experience in risk management or related fields.

Preferred Skills and Competencies:

• Experience in all aspects of the TPRM program and understanding of applicable laws, regulations, and regulatory trends impacting financial services.
• Solid understanding of Risk, Compliance, and Audit principles and practices
• Knowledge of business line operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks and controls.
• Effective presentation and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Strong problem-solving and project management capabilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Highly effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience issuing findings and credibly challenging risk assessments and remediation plans for third-party vendors.
