The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Momentum Technical Specialist to support the operations and maintenance (O&M) of the Integrated Financial and Acquisition Management System (iFAMS) for the Department of Veterans Affairs. Our ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the Momentum technical stack and associated infrastructure dependencies and will be responsible for managing multiple environments across development, testing, and production.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise for the Momentum Financials system, including technical system configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting

  • Manage and maintain multiple Momentum environments across development, testing, and production

  • Perform preventative, corrective, and adaptive maintenance to sustain system health and operational compliance

  • Support Change Management by controlling and executing approved changes to the operational baseline

  • Plan, schedule, and execute deployment of approved releases to production and designated supporting environments

  • Perform testing in support of O&M activities, including post-deployment validation

  • Support security, compliance, and audit activities, including ongoing authorization and continuous monitoring

  • Participate in disaster recovery and failover testing exercises

Qualifications:
Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience supporting Momentum Financials, including technical administration, environment management, and system maintenance or with containerized environments and platforms (e.g., OpenShift, Kubernetes)

  • Deep understanding of the technical stack, including application servers, middleware, integrations, and underlying database platforms

  • Experience managing and supporting multiple environments (development, test, staging, production) in a controlled, highly regulated environment

  • Proficiency in Linux (Red Hat) and Windows Server administration, including system performance tuning and troubleshooting

  • Demonstrated experience with release management and deployments, including planning, scheduling, and executing production releases

  • Strong background in patch management, vulnerability remediation, and system hardening in compliance with federal security standards

  • Working knowledge of federal security and compliance frameworks

  • Experience supporting system monitoring, incident response, and root cause analysis in an O&M environment

  • Familiarity with disaster recovery (DR) and continuity of operations (COOP) planning and testing

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document procedures and communicate with both technical and functional stakeholders

Desired

  • Experience supporting federal financial systems in a production O&M environment

  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices

  • Experience with database administration (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server) in support of enterprise applications

  • Understanding of performance tuning and capacity planning for enterprise applications

  • Experience participating in or supporting Authority to Operate (ATO) processes and audits

  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$114,600-$252,100
