What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Business Risk Specialist?

  • Analysis of legal documents received from attorneys and government agencies.
  • Gathering and packaging legal production responses to subpoenas, levies, and other requests for information.
  • Partner with front line business to screen risk events.
  • Work with vendors to oversee processes and respond to inquiries.
  • Actively representing the Business Risk group in meetings, initiatives, and projects
  • Support other areas of the Business Risk group including Blue Sky, Privacy and Retirement Plan Compliance.
  • Document policies and procedures as appropriate; ensuring consistency across Business Risk where applicable

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years’ experience working for a Mutual Fund Transfer Agent
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Curious mind-set; not afraid to ask questions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and follow through skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain a risk-based assessment process
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with people locally and across multiple cultures and time zones
  • Mutual fund or financial services industry knowledge preferred
  • Advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
