The Role

The Manager, Sustainability is responsible for driving the Group's sustainability agenda by supporting the development, implementation and reporting of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) initiatives across Capital A and its subsidiaries. In particular, the role requires a lot of coordination with the 5 core subsidiaries in varied industries, MRO, logistics, OTA, brand management and loyalty, as well as F&B. The role ensures compliance with regulatory and public listed company reporting requirements, coordinates sustainability programmes across the Group, and works closely with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen the Group's sustainability performance and disclosures. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and coordination of the Group's Sustainability Statement and related disclosures for the Annual Report and Sustainability Report, ensuring compliance with Bursa Malaysia and other applicable reporting requirements (e.g. HKEX).
  • Report the ESG progress and Sustainability Ratings (e.g. FTSE) to the Risk Management, Sustainability and Compliance Board Committee.
  • Coordinate the collection, validation and consolidation of ESG data across Capital A and its subsidiaries.
  • Monitor developments in sustainability regulations, reporting frameworks and industry best practices, recommending improvements where appropriate.
  • Support the development and execution of the Group's sustainability strategy, roadmap and key initiatives.
  • Partner with business functions to embed sustainability considerations into business operations and decision-making.
  • Track and report sustainability performance, key metrics and progress against ESG commitments.
  • Coordinate sustainability-related engagements with internal stakeholders, regulators, consultants and external assurance providers.
  • Support ESG ratings, sustainability assessments, benchmarking exercises and investor-related sustainability requests.
  • Develop sustainability policies, frameworks and governance processes to strengthen the Group's ESG practices.
  • Promote sustainability awareness across the organisation through engagement and education initiatives.

Candidate Profile

Experience

  • Minimum 6–8 years of experience in Sustainability, ESG, Corporate Responsibility, Risk, Corporate Affairs or a related field.
  • Mandatory experience within a public listed company, with hands-on involvement in sustainability reporting and annual report preparation.
  • Strong knowledge of Bursa Malaysia Sustainability Reporting requirements and ESG reporting frameworks.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional initiatives involving multiple business units. Preference to be given to candidates who are knowledgeable in CORSIA and ESG related to digital/online businesses.
  • Experience engaging with external consultants, assurance providers and regulators is an advantage.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or a related discipline.

Certifications

  • Professional sustainability certifications (e.g. GRI Professional Certification, IFRS Sustainability/ISSB training, SASB FSA Credential or equivalent) are preferred.

Success Profile

The ideal candidate is a proactive sustainability professional with strong knowledge of ESG reporting, regulatory requirements and sustainability frameworks within a public listed company environment. They possess excellent stakeholder management and project coordination skills, are highly analytical with strong attention to detail, and are experienced in managing sustainability disclosures, annual reporting and cross-functional collaboration. The individual is passionate about driving sustainable business practices while ensuring robust governance, transparency and regulatory compliance.
