Summary:
Performs electroencephalograph (EEG) testing.Responsibilities:
Measures and marks patient head using International 10-20 measurement system. Apply electrodes. Perform EEG study on Natus XLTEK machine.
Identify EEG patterns and artifacts. Troubleshoot and correct artifacts. Notify reading physician for analysis and interpretation.
Demonstrate proficiency in monitoring EEG studies in both the ICU and EMU settings following ACNS Guidelines using pattern recognition and EEG terminology to alert and describe to reading Epileptologist at appropriate times.
Reviews patient's history and educates patient about procedure. Monitors and documents patient's condition and responds to and reports any seizure symptoms.
Perform a variety of video EEG recordings (Routine / LTM / EMU) showing proficiency in all areas, including the International 10-20 system, and performing the EEG test according to ACNS Guidelines.
