About The Role
Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice. Assists clients of the agency in reporting and monitoring of claims, which includes taking initial loss notice, getting loss notice to the appropriate carrier company, communicating with client, tracking claims payments, and following the claim until closed by the carrier company. Conducts initial reviews of claims for any coverage questions, reviews any denial of coverage for accuracy and acts as a liaison between client and carrier company adjuster. Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks. Requires basic working knowledge of principles and practices of area of specialty. Required to obtain the necessary insurance license(s).
Responsibilities:
Work with carriers and providers to ensure accurate claims processing and communicate with clients/employees.
Assists clients with claims submission, gather necessary information from clients and providers for individual claims, receive and document incoming claims and check for pertinent information that is needed.
Assist clients and/or prospective clients with questions pertaining to their benefits.
Assist service team with claims clients.
Assist with service/claim issues through claims phone queue.
Proactively educate members on their benefits, promoting underutilized services and ancillary services like telemedicine, pricing transparency and wellness.
Document all activities in agency management system.
Develop and maintain a positive relationship and rapport with each client.
Handle and refer all requests by our clients.
Perform back-up responsibilities in absence of other claims advocates.
Perform other tasks and projects as needed/assigned.
Attend and participate I Monthly Department Meetings.
Work closely with other departments to coordinate services and ensure seamless client experiences.
Stay informed about changes in regulations and ensure adherence to all legal requirements.
Participate in training sessions and workshops to stay current with industry standards.
Develop and maintain a positive relationship and rapport with benefit enrollment system support staff, requesting enhancements to the system as needed.
Attend regularly scheduled training and conferences when content is deemed advantageous.
Participate and contribute to department meetings.
Comply with agency standards, policies, and procedures.

Requirements:
Strong organizational and time management skills, along with a demonstrated attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent technology and computer system skills.
Ability to establish credibility and develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders through ethics, integrity, professionalism, and mutual respect.
Effective change management, time management, and follow-up skills
Excellent critical thinking skills: ability to troubleshoot.
Proficient computer skills with agency management software systems, basic working knowledge required/Intermediate knowledge preferred of Microsoft: Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneNote.
Customer service oriented.
Knowledge of Agency Management Systems; Applied Epic a plus.
Able to function independently and as part of a team.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or recognized equivalent is required.
Associate degree or higher is preferred, or equitable experience.
Minimum 3 years of claims management preferred within the benefits/healthcare industry.
