The purpose of the JLG UK North Sales Support Representative is to support the growth of sales through our Material Handling & Low Level Access Channels to Market.  These Channels represents our current best route to market for locally (Europe) built LLA, Toucan and DSP product.  Supporting Activities will focus heavily on the provision of equipment for events, demonstration of equipment at events and customer sites, and on the pull through marketing activities such as general site visits; site surveys and method-change visits and demonstrations. This role requires travelling up to 75%.
 

The UK N& I SSR reports into the UK MH BDM, but will be expected to support any sales activities in the UK North & I – so will also work closely with the LLA BDM, UK National Account Managers and JLG’s Irish Distributor as required. This position is Middleton Office based, however this is a role that will see the successful candidate travelling throughout the North of the UK&I with home working permitted when applicable/feasible.

The UK N &I SSR will also be required to carry out some level of self-planned work to fill gaps in when travelling and to keep in touch with what is going on in key sectors of the market such as Construction & Fit Out; Warehousing; Food and Drinks Production to name a few.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with the MH and LLA BDMs to support their Business Development Initiatives, through:

    - Site Surveys (joint / alone)
    - Site Demonstrations
    - Dealer and Partner Training Sessions- Delivery to, demonstration & promotion at events (safety, buyer, trade shows, customer open days etc.)
    - General site visits to help with the ‘pull’ strategy – understanding the market / sector / and opportunities for new business
     
  • Work with National Accounts Sales Team to
    - Support events / demos / training sessions (in same manner as with the BDM’s)
    - Do depot visits and cold-call visits to assist with call plans for large nationals.
    - Make on-spec visits to smaller plant / tool rental companies showing them the machine they are towing.
  • Look for opportunities to ‘Sell the House’ when out and about, promoting:
    - Training / Workshop Works / Service Contracts / Parts.
  • Work with JLG BDM’s and product management / marketing as applicable to help develop sales tools, value propositions and competitor comparisons for key MH & LLA Channel Products (LLA, ES Scissors; Stock Pickers, Toucan Booms).
  • Provide input to the BDM for a weekly ‘Channel Activity’ report.
  • Assist the BDM as required with updating / closing opportunity pipeline in the CRM.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with low level access equipment, heavy machinery / industry, material handling equipment - with experience of conducting site surveys.
  • Technical Sales Support background / experience preferred.
  • Understanding of (some of) the sectors in which you will be working: Fit out / Warehousing / general MH / Food and Drinks Production.
  • Experience of demonstrating equipment to customers.
  • Experience in loading and off-loading and towing a trailer is preferred – but training will be offered to the right candidate.
  • Desire to be customer facing and to deliver and exceed on customer expectations.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft office packages.
  • (Some) understanding / experience of using a CRM.
  • Fluent in English. Knowledge of any other European languages is a plus.
  • Willing and able to travel up to 75%.
