Mechanical Inspector

As a Mechanical Inspector, you are responsible for conducting inspection of machined and fabricated parts, weldments, electro-mechanical hydraulic assemblies and related hardware.

Your Challenge:

  • Ensure all work is performed according to the company Quality Management System (QMS) and that all parts meet customer specifications.

  • Proficient in the interpretation of complex engineering drawings, schematics, and process plans.

  • Superior skills in the use of metrology instruments.

  • Demonstrated skills and experience working with CMM equipment.

  • Interface with in-house DND QAR during interim/final inspection of equipment.

  • Follows every reasonable precaution to ensure work is performed following the Health & Safety procedures. Immediately report accidents and incidents and participate in the investigations.

Your Expertise:

  • Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Previous Quality Control/Assurance experience preferred.

  • Sound working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing

  • Excellent mathematical and blueprint reading skills

  • Must have knowledge of calibration methods and standards.

  • Competent skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Business system experience ERP (Oracle) is an asset.

  • Experience with a Quality Management Suite, such as TIPQA is considered an asset.

  • Excellent communication skills, plus the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a busy environment with minimal supervision.


Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Graduate from an appropriate post-secondary program in Quality.

  • Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering would be an asset
