Your Challenge

  • Design mechanical aspects of complex new electronic controllers, including component placement, attachment and module packaging to meet or exceed customer specifications and requirements while ensuring manufacturability with internal and/or external capabilities.
  • Design and develop mechanical layouts for Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs), including component placement constraints and mounting hardware.
  • Consider design requirements for environment, operation conditions, reliability and durability in all aspects of the physical design.
  • Determine technical objectives and develop innovative, practical solutions to advance technical engineering problems.
  • Design for EMI/EMC shielding using gaskets, coatings, and specialized enclosure geometry to minimize electromagnetic interference.
  • Support Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to validate designs against severe shock and vibration profiles (DO-160 or MIL-STD-810 or equivalent).
  • Support Thermal Analysis to manage heat dissipation through conduction, convection, and radiation in both active and passively cooled systems.
  • Assist test engineering, quality and manufacturing in building, installing, debugging and testing designed equipment to ensure production capabilities.
  • Design and conduct development testing with Test Engineers.  Assist Test Engineer to interpret testing results, conduct analysis and support Test Engineer in writing analysis and test reports.
  • Draw conclusions and reconcile differences between predicted and actual results.
  • Provide engineering design, field maintenance support and engineering guidance for manufacturing, quality and supply chain organizations.
  • Plan and coordinate the maintenance of assigned designs, including documentation, reporting, publishing, and making technical or other presentations to ensure visibility of the solution(s).
