Job Description Summary
The Aero Reliability Engineering team sits at the nexus of technology and profitability for GE Vernova’s Aeroderivative gas turbine fleet. As the energy transition accelerates, our turbines provide the essential grid stability required for a decarbonized future. As a Technical Leader, you are not merely a manager of data; you are the architect of our fleet’s reliability strategy. You will bridge the gap between complex statistical modeling and high-stakes commercial decision-making, ensuring that our technical insights directly translate into fleet availability, reduced risk, and optimized service margins.
Job Description
Key Strategic Focus Areas:
- Architecting Reliability Strategy: Move beyond reactive analysis to define the long-term technical roadmap. You will own the strategic direction for how we model system performance, translating raw data into actionable intelligence that drives global fleet health.
- Commercial Synergy & Financial Impact: Act as the primary technical authority for our CSA/MYA (Contractual Service Agreement) portfolios. Your analysis will directly inform our commercial service offerings, ensuring that reliability models are tightly coupled with revenue targets and risk mitigation strategies.
- Driving Technical Innovation: Spearhead the transition toward predictive and automated reliability environments. You will mentor the team to move beyond legacy methods, championing the integration of Python and advanced data architectures to redefine how we diagnose and predict fleet performance.
- Executive Influence: Act as the voice of reliability for executive leadership. You will distill complex survival analyses and RAM metrics into high-impact narratives that influence investment, maintenance, and fleet-wide engineering decisions.
- Cultivating Technical Excellence: Foster a high-performance culture. Beyond project management, you will be a coach and mentor, identifying and nurturing the next generation of reliability engineers while streamlining team workflows to maximize output.
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Own business-level reliability initiatives; define and implement technical roadmaps that align with GE Vernova’s decarbonization and growth goals.
- Portfolio Governance: Oversee the integrity of CSA/MYA catalogs, ensuring real-world operational performance is precisely captured through rigorous annual ATA-level updates.
- Advanced Reliability Analytics: Lead the execution of mission-critical studies (Weibull modeling, RAM analysis, DFR studies) while setting the bar for technical quality and accuracy.
- Operational Transformation: Drive the automation of high-complexity processes, utilizing Python and Big Data tools to replace manual workflows with scalable diagnostic solutions.
- Collaborative Partnership: Serve as the central point of contact between engineering, product, and commercial legal teams; provide proactive, data-driven testimony and insights for high-value customer engagements.
Requirements:
- Academic Foundation: BSc or MSc in Engineering.
- Proven Experience: 6+ years in reliability modeling, statistical analysis, or complex data engineering.
- Commercial Acumen: A deep understanding of maintenance/service contract structures (CSA/MYA) and the ability to articulate technical data in a commercial context.
- Leadership Presence: Demonstrated success in project leadership, cross-functional team coordination, and mentorship.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced analytical toolset (Excel proficiency is a baseline; preference for ReliaSoft/JMP).
- Communication Mastery: Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, from technical teams to executive leadership.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced Data Capabilities: Expert-level knowledge of Python/MySQL for data automation and large-scale (Big Data) processing.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of Aeroderivative gas turbine construction and power plant system integration.
- Innovation Mindset: A track record of designing new tools or processes that have improved business outcomes (e.g. AI implementation).
