Summary of Job Duties:
The Post Doctoral Fellow in the Miah Laboratory at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences on Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) to study the role of non-Receptor Protein Tyrosine kinases (nRTKs) in TNBC; how nRTKs maneuver signal transduction pathways in TNBC to promote tumorigenesis and metastasis. The lab will undertake an interdisciplinary approach combining biochemical, molecular genetics, genomic and proteomics approaches in cell lines, mice, and human samples to achieve the research goals. The overarching goal of this research is to identify a druggable biomarker to yield a new avenue to study and treat TNBC with precision medicine therapies. This position involves studying the role of nRTKs and signal transduction pathways in TNBC using cell lines, tumor tissue samples and mouse models. The candidate will receive training in to progress towards an independent career.
The expectation will be that the post doc will obtain new data related to the above studies and, in cooperation and consultation with the supervisor, write manuscripts and grant proposals to the NIH or other local, national or international funding sources to obtain resources to expand studies and develop new independent lines of research.
Qualifications:
- PhD in a Bioscience field of study.
- Protein purification, cell culture, proteomics, and general laboratory experience.
- Ph.D. and 0-2 years postdoctoral experience. Or relevant equivalent experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Be highly organized, flexible and motivated.
- Excellent communication skills and computer proficiency are required.

- Basic cell culture and protein purification
- Cell biology including Western blotting and Immunostaining.
- Live imaging of cells using microscopy.
