JOB PURPOSE

The Truckload Analyst will be responsible for analyzing market trends, negotiating carrier rates, and developing pricing strategies to optimize transportation costs and enhance overall supply chain efficiency for our clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct thorough analysis of market trends, industry benchmarks, and economic factors impacting truckload transportation rates.
  • Negotiate competitive rates with truckload carriers based on market conditions, lane characteristics, and client-specific requirements.
  • Develop and implement strategic pricing models and methodologies to optimize transportation costs and improve profitability for clients.
  • Collaborate closely with clients and internal stakeholders to understand their unique transportation needs, challenges, and goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with truckload carriers, leveraging partnerships to negotiate favorable rates and secure capacity for clients.
  • Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and data analytics tools to analyze shipment data, identify cost-saving opportunities, and measure performance against key metrics.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis and scenario modeling to evaluate pricing strategies and assess the financial impact on clients and the organization.
  • Manage carrier contracts, rate agreements, and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
  • Identify process improvements and efficiency opportunities within the pricing and procurement function, driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies, while proactively managing risks associated with pricing and procurement activities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires a Highschool diploma, vocational school or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of experience in related field.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS) and freight brokerage platforms preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant software applications.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment while also working independently to achieve objectives.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Occasionally, the employee is required to lift boxes up to 20 pounds. 

SCHEDULING

This is a full-time benefits-eligible position, working Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. An employee in this position must be available to work occasionally on weekends and evenings, during peak periods.

TRAVEL

Local travel is required. Out of state travel is limited, but may be required for special training/conferences.
