If you want to impact the growth of the APM Terminals portfolio in Panama, adding the legal perspective to existing terminals and eventual investments, you belong in this role!
This position coordinates legal advisory services to APM Terminals operations in Panama. It is responsible for liaising with third parties — including government agencies and external legal counsels — on matters related to the terminal’s legal affairs, primarily corporate, company-law, labor and employment, criminal, customs, and tax matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Concession compliance coordination: Monitor KPIs, investment/maintenance and reporting duties; prepare for audits/inspections; and act as primary liaison with the port/granting authority and regulators on concession matters.
  • Permits & licensing coordination: Maintain a live register and renewal calendar; coordinate applications, renewals, and filings with internal teams and licensed counsel to keep all operational authorizations valid and in force.
  • Disputes & proceedings oversight: Manage outside counsel on litigation, arbitration, administrative actions, and pre‑dispute work; align strategy, budgets, and reporting.
  • Contract governance: Coordinate use of standard templates and approval workflows across commercial/operational contracts, and route jurisdiction and subject matter specific issues to licensed counsel.
  • Compliance program enablement: Partner with Compliance to operationalize anti‑corruption and sanctions/export‑controls frameworks (screening, approvals, records) and track mandatory training coverage.
  • Legal risk & assurance management: Maintain the legal risk register and mitigations; compile evidence packs for audits/inspections; and coordinate regulatory engagements and RFQ/tender compliance steps as required.

Critical competencies

  • Bachelor Degree in Law; Post Graduation is a differential.
