The Opportunity

This position works out of our Atlanta, GA office in the Heart Failure Division. In Abbott’s Heart Failure (HF) business, we’re developing solutions to diagnose, monitor and manage heart failure, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

As a Senior Engineer, Test and Controls, you will have the opportunity to develop complex software and automated test equipment using the state-of-the-art software development platforms and test and measurement hardware. You will be able work as part of dynamic team and independently. This is an opportunity to work in a medical device regulated environment on innovative products that have a significate impact on people’s lives.

What You’ll Work On

  • Develop, maintain and validate software for production and RD
  • Develop qualify and maintain Automated Test Equipment (hardware and software)
  • Write software/system qualification documents (SRS, test Protocols, Software design documents, installation qualification, etc).
  • Perform software/systems qualification e.g executing test protocols
  • Develop qualify and maintain database.
  • Troubleshoot production software and ATE, identify and resolve discrepancies against design and requirement specification.
  • Generate project plans
  • Ensure industry best practices to solve complex problems
  • Actively promote software/system quality while working with cross functional teams
  • Continuously improve quality processes and standards
  • Comply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
  • Maintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in Computer Science or similar engineering discipline , or equivalent combination education and work experience.
  • Experience in LabVIEW. Experience in programing languages such as C#
  • Experience with control and measurement hardware
  • Experience in software hardware interfacing, GPIB, USB, RS232, Ethernet, etc.
  • Writing and qualifying software in a regulated Med Device environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience covering the entire software lifecycle
  • Experience database languages such as SQL.
  • Extensive programming experience.
  • Experience in software qualification including writing software requirements, test protocols, software design document.
  • Experience in generating project plans

The base pay for this position is

$72,700.00 – $145,300.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
