POSITION PURPOSE:         

Provides pre-employment health screenings for CGH employees, conducts adult immunization programs.  Triages and provides general assessment for initial non-life-threatening workers’ compensation injuries.  Also tracks worker compensation injuries and infectious disease exposures and administers the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), light duty and long-term disability programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Conduct and evaluate post offer employment health screenings for CGH employees.

  • Provides TB skin testing for employees and auxiliary along with follow up counseling of TB test converters.

  • Organize and implement employee immunization programs.

  • Establish and maintain employee health records.

  • Investigates employee exposures to infectious disease and provides post-exposure follow up and counseling.

  • Compile and report to Infection Control Committee data on employee blood and body fluid exposures, and other infectious diseases.

  • Initiates and provides an annual influenza program for employees, auxiliary and other in-house groups as directed.

  • Provides general employee health orientation for new employees.

  • Participates as a member of the Safety and Infection Control Committees.

  • Monitor employees who become ill or exhibit signs of infection and together with the Infection Control Department, implements infection control education programs.

  • Provides guidance to employees concerning the FMLA and tracks employees utilizing this program.

  • Acts as a liaison between employees, supervisory staff, worker’s compensation administrator and health care providers as necessary in administering worker’s compensation, ADA and FMLA issues.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

SPECIALIZED KNOW-HOW & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

  • Current Illinois Registered Nurse Licensure required.

  • Minimum of two (2) years nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory clinic setting, Occupational Health Nursing preferred.

  • Current CPR Certification required.

  • Demonstrated computer literacy preferred.

  • Demonstrates the knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs of the patients served on assigned unit.  Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the patient population served.  Able to assess and interpret data about the patient’s status in order to identify each patient’s needs and provide the appropriate care, including age-related care, needed by the pediatric and geriatric patient group.

Compensation Range

$67,038.40 - $100,557.60
